Volkswagen Subscription, take home new car in just Rs 16500, no registration, no insurance

Choose from the Polo, Vento, and T-Rock versions to lease for up to four years.

In India, Volkswagen has introduced subscription programs. The Wolfsburg-based company has partnered with ORIX Auto Infrastructure Services Ltd to implement these subscription-based automobile ownership schemes.

Cars available and their price

Customers may choose to ‘subscribe’ the cars in three segments, the first is the Polo in the hatchback segment, the second is Vento midsize sedan segment and the last is T-Roc in the SUV segment for a 24, 36, or 48 month period under the subscription model.

The Volkswagen Polo costs Rs 16,500 per month to lease, while the Volkswagen Vento costs Rs 27,000 per month to lease, and the T-roc SUV costs Rs 59,000 per month to lease.

Here Volkswagen is offering you two types of lease options.

  • Wet lease
  • Dry lease

Wet lease – This lease rental will cover registration, repairs, maintenance, and insurance. Other costs if any needs to be borne by the customer.

Dry lease – Lease rental will cover only registration and insurance, other costs if any needs to be borne by the customer.

Subscription / Lease Availibilty

Across phase one, the subscription ownership model will be accessible at 30 Volkswagen locations in eleven cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Gurgaon, Noida, Thane, Navi Mumbai, and Hyderabad.

Orix will provide clients 100% on-road financing, routine maintenance, insurance coverage, and the opportunity to upgrade or return the vehicle.

What Volkswegan thinks

The company has inked an initial agreement to offer a subscription-based automobile ownership model to evolving Indian consumers, it said, adding that the company has struck an early agreement to offer a subscription-based car ownership model to changing Indian customers.

Automobile manufacturers will have to keep this in mind to achieve a better position in the market since a growing number of younger and middle-class customers are interested in subscription programs rather than outright automobile purchases. From September 9th, these subscription plans will be available on the Volkswagen India official website.

What I think

After the exit of two major car manufacturers from the Indian market, automakers are doing everything they can to attract additional potential buyers. This is a good option to attract more customers.
