Honda City Hybrid is to be launched soon to blast the market

Honda Cars India is planning to introduce the Honda City Hybrid to its lineup in the near future. Honda City Hybrid will be released in the Indian market before the end of the next financial year, according to the company’s Senior Vice President Rajesh Goel. This car is expected to be the highest mileage car in the country once it hits the market.

This model was released internationally earlier this year and is currently available in Malaysia, and the manufacturer has verified that it will be released next year in India.

Honda City Hybrid Mileage

According to reports, the mileage of the Indian model of Honda City Hybrid will be similar to the Malaysian and Thai models. The mileage of the Thai and Malaysian versions is 27.8 kmpl and 27.7 kmpl and the mileage of the Indian variant is also expected to be 27 kmpl. But it will be interesting to see how much mileage Honda City Hybrid can give here in on-road real conditions.

If the Honda City Hybrid achieves the promised economy of more than 27 kilometers per liter, it will be the country’s most fuel-efficient car in its class.

Honda City Hybrid Engine and Motor

A 1.5-liter petrol engine powers the new hybrid car. The petrol engine has a power output of 98 bhp, while the electric motor has a power output of 109 horsepower. The petrol engine produces 127 Nm of torque, while the electric motor produces 253 Nm.

How the Honda City Motors work

The City hybrid is equipped with Honda i-MMD, a hybrid system that is also used in the international-spec Honda CR-V hybrid and the new-generation Honda Jazz marketed in other countries. Two electric motors and an internal combustion engine make up the new Honda City Hybrid. The first electric motor, which is integrated in the petrol engine, helps and serves as an integrated starter generator (ISG), while the second motor drives the wheels.

The Honda City Hybrid will undoubtedly cost more. While the automobile will be manufactured in India, much of the hybrid system’s components will be imported. Due to duty and other comparable charges, the cost of this automobile may be considerable.

In India, the firm sells both the fourth and fifth generations of Honda City. Its most recent model ranges in price from Rs 11.16 lakh to Rs 15.11 lakh. The hybrid’s pricing is expected to range between Rs 17.5 and Rs 20 lakhs.
