Technical Overview of TVS Raider

Here are some important technical things which must be considered before buying a bike. If the bike is good on these then it will be the right choice for the customers. So we bring here some points about the new TVS Raider.

Engine

The TVS Raider is powered by a brand-new 124.8cc air-cooled three-valve fuel-injected single-cylinder engine. It has a 5-speed gearbox and produces 11.38PS @ 7500rpm and 11.2Nm at 6000rpm.

Suspension

A telescopic front fork and a 5-step preload-adjustable gas-charged monoshock are used on the TVS Raider.

Riding Modes

There are two riding modes on the TVS Raider 125: Eco and Power. The Eco mode reduces performance by 3% while increasing mileage by 3%, according to the manufacturer. Switching to Power mode is said to increase peak speed by 10%. In addition, the acceleration from 0 to 60 km/h is 0.4 seconds faster.

Engine Cut Function

In addition, the bike has an integrated starter generator for quiet starts and an idle stop-start mechanism to save gasoline in congested areas. The engine turns off automatically after idling for a while when the bike comes to rest in neutral. As soon as you blip the throttle, it goes back on.

Brakes

The front brakes are 240mm petal discs, while the rear brakes are 130mm drums. At a lesser price range, TVS also provides a front drum brake-equipped version.

Tires

The motorbike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with TVS Remora tyres in the front and 100-section tyres in the back.

TVS Raider is now coming in two variants. From which the front drum brake-equipped TVS Raider costs Rs 77,500 (ex-showroom Delhi), whereas the front disc brake-equipped Raider costs Rs 85,469 (ex-showroom Delhi).

What’s good in TVS Raider

TVS Raider offers so many good things with this bike first thing is the refreshing looks which are really required in this 125cc segment. Honda is the king of this 125cc segment but now this bike might do a lot for TVS. TVS Raider has so many good points which are given below:

  • Good quality bike
  • LED setup
  • Digital instrument control
  • USB chrging facility
  • Mileage king

What’s not good in TVS Raider

There isn’t much to write about but there are a few points that I really want to write about here.

The first thing is the tyres, These are not up to the mark, they can come with more gripping. The second thing is the digital console, no doubt it gives us lots of information but TVS stuffed it so badly, the layout must be clear.

Improvements in TVS Raider

TVS Raider is a good bike if TVS wants to improve on this bike then first they should change the tyres with the better ones. Second thing is TVS should offer ABS as an option.

Verdict

In my opinion, TVS Raider 125 is a balanced bike. You can commute with it very comfortably with this it offers you great sporty looks and good mileage. As per the demands of the young rider, it offers lots of features and looks and great riding quality.

Overall it is a complete package, if you are looking for a commuter segment bike then you can go for TVS Raider.
