TVS iQube electric scooter price, design, ride experience, range, and review

When TVS announced that they are coming with an electric product, at that time the whole community of auto enthusiasts expected “CREON” to be launched which was shown as a concept in auto expo 2018 instead of it they were coming with TVS IQUBE.

I must say this product looks good from a design point of view, TVS keeps it simple and uses minimalistic design language here with TVS IQUBE. TVS plays smart moves by keeping it not flashy unlike most of the Chinese scooters. TVS knows the Indian market, they want to come with a family scooter that means anyone in the family can ride it, not for the particular niche.

TVS iQube: Design

In the front, the wiser comes with a piano black finish. The upper and middle sides of the apron also come with that type of black finish. Except for these the whole front comes in white. It makes a dual-tone composition, which really enhances the looks of the scooter.

The lights you find all over the scooter are LED. In the front, the border of the wiser is an LED daytime running light (DRL’s). In the apron, you can see a slim headlight strip with the blinkers.  The position of the headlight is quite below but it works excellent and also added to the looks of the TVS IQUBE electric scooter.

If you see the side profile of the scooter you can see the same approach of minimalist design which looks great and makes the design timeless. Here on the side, you see an “IQUBE ELECTRIC” badge covered in a chrome box. Near to the rear tyre, the “TVS ELECTRIC” is written, here the “ELECTRIC” badge comes with illumination functionality.

In the rear, you again see a backlight strip, indicators are infused in it. The design of these is the same as you can see in the front headlamp.

TVS iQube: Ride and Comfort

You will find a very comfortable seat in TVS IQUBE. It is a quite broad seat. The people are a little bit heavier in physique, this electric scooter can hold them comfortably.

The seat height is 745 mm which means low height people can also ride this electric scooter very comfortably. The ground clearance of this TVS IQUBE is 150 mm which is more than fine to ride in the city.

TVS IQUBE comes with a telescopic suspension in the front and a hydraulic twin-tube shock absorber in the rear. The suspension is tuned on the softer side which makes it really comfortable for city rides. But if you go with the bumpy roads or from the big potholes, you will feel them.

Unlike any other electric scooter, TVS IQUBE does not disable the accelerator when the brakes are applied. This makes it much easier to ride in heavy traffic.

TVS iQube: Space

Now the most important thing, the boot space/ under-seat storage capacity of TVS IQUBE. Here TVS does a tremendous job providing 21 litres of boot space. You can carry so much luggage or a full-size helmet in it.

You will also get a USB charger here so that you can charge your devices on the go and a night lamp is also given in the boot.

TVS iQube: Instrument Console

TVS IQUBE comes with a coloured TFT display. This comes with its own application which enables the connectivity of the scooter to the phone. It displays turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, trip information, and much basic information. This display works really well.

SmartX Connect App

With this smartX connect app you can connect your scooter and be updated all the time about your scooter. It provides so many features, like:

  • Navigation assist
  • Remote charge status
  • Geofencing
  • Incoming call alerts
  • Some other statistics

TVS iQube colours

TVS iQube comes in a single colour white with a combination of black piano finish. It really looks good and has its presence.

TVS iQube: Technical Overview

Motor

TVS iQube equipped with silent 4.4 kw hub motor, which holds IP67 rating. It gives you great power so that you enjoy your ride.

In the sports mode, you can achieve 78 kmph speed and in the eco mode, you can go up to 45 kmph. These are the same figures that are claimed by the company and also achieved on the real roads.

battery specifications

This electric scooter is powered by 3 battery packs that come encased in a high-strength aluminum casing that makes it water and dust-resistant. The installed lithium-ion battery pack’s capacity is 2.25 kwh. This capacity helps to give fine range to the electric scooter. It is not a detachable battery which means you have to charge the battery at the parking place.

Range

Power mode gives around 48 km and Eco mode munch around 70 Km in the real world. Eco mode is good for the city, unlike other Chinese electric scooters which restrict the speed too much in Eco mode. I can say the range is fine for the city but if it can go up to 100 km in one charge, it really changes the game for TVS.

Charging

It comes with a good quality charger which takes around 5 hours to fully the scooter. Approximately it will quench 2.5 units of the electricity. Still, it can run 3 km in a rupee.

Warranty

TVS offers 3 years or 55,000 km guarantee with the battery packs.

Brakes

It comes with a 220 mm disc in the front and a 130 mm drum at the rear. It goes 60 kmph to 0 kmph in approx 25 meters. TVS IQUBE is not equipped with ABS but TVS gives the combi brake system (CBS), which works well.

Tyres

TVS IQUBE comes with 12 inches alloy wheels; these two-tone alloy wheels look quite great. The front and rear tyres are 90/90 section. These tyres provide good grip.

Pros and Cons

Pros.

  • Great quality
  • Power
  • Comfort
  • Space
  • Brakes

Cons.

  • Range

Improvements

Regenerative braking

When you leave the throttle, the regenerative braking kicks in. The regenerative braking in TVS iQube is quite aggressive. It slows the scooter to a stand still, even when you are going downhill, so you have to get used to it. It will be nice if this regenerative braking system is a little bit intense.

TVS iQube Price

The TVS iQube price is around Rs 1,00,000. Still, you find major ups and downs in the prices of different states because of the subsidy. If you want to check the price of TVS iQube at your place then Click Here.

TVS iQube: Verdict

Overall the TVS IQUBE riding experience stands at an impressive level. The thing which doesn’t stand out is the looks, it is on the subtle side which appeals to everyone in the family. The wrap-around headlamp and taillamp add to the styling but other than that it’s very basic.

In my opinion, the TVS iQube is a good product from TVS. You can trust this instead of any other Chinese company. You can be ensured about the service and spares. The quality of this electric scooter is great. I must suggest you all go with this product.
