Tata Tiago NRG is using a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter engine with provides you adequate torque. Initially, on the lower speed, you find this car has good torque and in mid-range, the torque is also fine but on the top end, you will miss it a bit.

In the manual gearbox, the clutch of this Tiago NRG is very lite you can’t even feel that you are pressing the clutch. It is good when are driving in the city or you are stuck in the traffic.

If you want to go with automatic so do remember it is not a CVT it is AMT so can’t get a high level of smoothness with the AMT but it is fine and reliable.

If you want a family car and you drive your car with ease and don’t want the punchy drive then this is good for you. This car can perform smoothly below 4000 RPM, you will not get much noise in the cabin. Everything is good up to that RPM mark.

After 4000 RPM you can listen to rough engine sound, this sound looks like you are harming the engine so don’t go over 4500 RPM.

The first thing in my opinion is the engine, here it is a subjective matter. As we know the 1.2-liter engine produces 86 Ps of power which is not bad but if you want a punchy car then you can’t get that.

NVH levels of this car are good but if you push it so hard then can hear the rough sound of the engine inside the cabin.

The AMT transmission is also not smooth, in this you will feel when the car changes the gear but the manual gear really works great.

You will not get good thigh support in the rear seats which creates a bit of discomfort for long journeys.

Improvements

This car is already a feature-packed car if we see it according to the segment and the money you pay for this. Still, we can give some suggestions to TATA for this car.

The first thing is climate control, which comes in the top-end model of Tiago but in this Tiago NRG it is not there.

The Engine is the part where Tata must do work, here tata is providing a three-cylinder engine which is not much smooth at the higher RPMs if tata can manage to give a 4 cylinder engine and make this car smoother. It will help this car to get more sales.
