Honda CB 200X 2021 price, mileage, review, features, handling, and safety

Honda has released the much-anticipated CB 200X in India. The CB 200X is a motorcycle designed for adventure touring. It will compete against the Royal Enfield Himalayan, KTM 250 Adventure, and Hero XPulse 200, which are all entry-level adventure tourers. Instead of Honda BigWing, normal dealerships will sell the CB 200X.

It is a budget segment Adventure bike. Honda calls it an urban explorer. Instead of being a full-fledged off-roader, the CB 200X is a road-biased adventure tourer.

Many of its components are derived from the Hornet 2.0. However, Honda has made significant tweaks to the motorbike to make it more highway-friendly and capable of light off-roading.

Features

Built to thrill riders, the CB 200X is the ideal riding partner for everyday city trips and brief weekend escapes beyond the cityscapes. It has some great useful features which are listed below:

Tall visor – Here in CB 200X, you will find the visor which is very much fine to do its work it will help to resist the air and you can enjoy the ride more.

Fully digital console – This bike also has a fully digital console that provides you lots of information like speed, tachometer, trip meters, and much more things.

All led lights with hazard – Honda really knows what customer demand is nowadays that’s why they providing an led lighting setup with its honda 200x, here you get a led headlight, led indicators, and led backlights with all these you will get a hazard light option that is very useful.

Upside-down front fork – CB 200X also has upside-down forks which help to give you better control on the bike.

Tough tread pattern tyres – This bike has special tread pattern tyres which help to give a good grip on the road as well as on the offroad.

Y-shaped alloy wheels – The Y-shaped alloy wheels give the bike a good look.

Ride and Comfort

Honda CB 200X has been made by keeping in mind to give great comfort to the rider. For comfort, honda has added so many things to its bike.

Split step seat – Honda has given split seats here these seats are very comfortable for the rider and for the pillion as well. You can ride some long rides on this bike with lots of comfort.

Brakes – A 276mm disc in the front with a two-piston Nissin caliper and a 220mm disc with a single-piston caliper handle braking duties. Even the ground clearance, which is still 167mm, hasn’t altered.

Colours

This all-new CB 200X is offered by honda in three dashing colours. These all colors are looking great and it adds to the character of the bike. These colours are:

  • Sports red
  • Pearl nightstar black
  • Matte selene silver metallic

Mileage

As we don’t have the bike with us so know this CB 200X is using the same motor as the honda hornet 2.0 so we can say its estimated mileage will be around 45 kmpl to 50 kmpl.

Price

The price of CB 200X is Rs. 144500 ex-showroom Delhi.

This is a little bit overpriced in my opinion but if we talk about the reliability of honda engines and their performance, this price is justified.

If honda keeps the price a little bit low then honda can grab some more sales definitely.

Competitors

CB 200x will compete against the Royal Enfield Himalayan, KTM 250 Adventure, and Hero XPulse 200, which are all entry-level adventure tourers.

Here in the Indian market, not many adventure bikes are present in this particular segment. In my opinion, if we look at the presence of the companies the only effective rival it has is the hero xpulse 200 which is really a successful product for the company and here I must say hero xpulse is a real offroader with great capabilities with less pricing.

If you are a casual offroader then CB 200X is for you it will take you anywhere with its more comfortable seats.

What’s good in CB 200X

CB 200X has lots of good elements which gives the bike an edge over the competitors. These are:

  • Engine – The 184.4 CC engine produces 17 horse power with 16.1 NM of torque which is good for commuting and short rides.
  • Looks – This bike carries the look of an adventure bike, honda also has integrated some characters of ADV in it. It means it is not looking like an ADV but it also justifies it to some extent.
  • Comfort – Honda CB 200X has long and split seats that ensure the comfortable ride for the rider and pillion as well.
  • Capability – CB 200X has the capability to do rides and some offroads. If you are person who loves to explore new roads you can take this beauty with you.

What’s not good in CB 200X

No one is going to be perfect here is no exception, this CB 200X is good but the customer always demands more. So here I am discussing some points which In my opinion are not that good.

  • Price – The pricing is the major issue because its competitor offering nearly the same specs with more mature experience of offroading with their product on low pricing.
  • Front indicators – The position of the front indicators looking great but in my opinion it doesn’t live for long. If the bike fall then first thing which will easily break is knuckle guard there is a strong chance that indicators will damage at the same time.

Improvements

For now, we can’t say much because we didn’t get our hands on the bike. One thing I must say is that honda should offer a special offroading capabilities enhancer kit as an option with this bike So that if the person wants to do some good offroading with this CB 200X can go for it.

Verdict

My verdict on Honda CB 200X is, the bike is so good. If you are a buyer who wants to commute and has a tight budget still wants to do some good rides can go for this bike because this bike has the capabilities and seats are quite comfortable.

Instead of the above if you are an offroading style person and want to go anywhere with your bike it is not a good option to go.
