Mahindra has introduced the Bolero Neo in India, making it the company’s fourth SUV in the sub-four-meter category.

For India, the Bolero is an SUV in its purest form. It has a minimal maintenance need and a high capability. Its basic character, however, has rendered it unsuitable for modern Indian families. Mahindra has rebranded the TUV300 as the Bolero Neo to provide you the same Bolero ruggedness but with a more acceptable interior feel.

Exterior

The Bolero Neo is a revamped version of the TUV 300, which has been out of production for almost a year. With this, the car has got so many elements from bolero which proves it is a real bolero family car. Some great exterior elements are:

Ride and handling

The suspension has also been improved to provide more stability at greater speeds. This, however, has had a detrimental impact on the ride. The suspension has a hardness to it that can be felt in the interior even when the vehicle is not loaded.

The firmer springs, on the other hand, have improved the handling qualities of the Neo. It manages its weight better and feels more stable on high-speed lane changes and bends, thanks to its lower center of gravity. There is still a lot of body roll, but it isn’t as bad as it used to be.

Technical Overview

Engine and transmission – Mahindra’s engine has been upgraded to satisfy the BS6 standards. The mHawk 100 diesel engine is a 1.5-liter inline three-cylinder engine with a five-speed manual transmission that sends all of the power to the rear axle. It has a power output of 100 horsepower and a torque output of 260Nm.

MTT – On the N 10 (O) versions – known as MTT – a locking differential is available, which can help provide better traction in slippery, uneven surface and offroading situations.

Mileage

Bolero Neo is not yet tested in the real world by customers but in the testing by media persons, the bolero neo gives around 11 kmpl mileage in the city and you can get around 14 kmpl to 16 kmpl on highways.

Infotainment System – Mahindra has given Bluetooth connectivity in its infotainment system but Mahindra should give the android auto and apple car play options in it.

LED lights – The headlight unit must be a led unit which really helps to get the more clear vision at night.

Verdict

In my opinion, this compact SUV bolero neo is a great product but it has some special kind of audience which very much prefer to take this car with them.

The first type of customers is those who love Mahindra products, whatever the scenario they just want to go with Mahindra products. This car is for them.

Second, If you want to buy bolero but now you have great features with an upgraded version and still you get the bolero DNA infuses in the car.

Third, You want a budget SUV means don’t want any kind of car which just looks like an SUV instead you want a real SUV which has that kind of strength in it.

Fourth, These are the young India who wants an SUV that can go anywhere but doesn’t put extra load on their pocket.
