When the rider accelerates from a stop, the Smart Motor Generator (SMG) technology on the new Yamaha Fascino 125 Hybrid acts as an electric motor, providing power assistance.
Yamaha Motor India has recently announced the introduction of the new Fascino 125 Hybrid in India. The base drum brake model of the aforementioned scooter is priced at Rs 70,000. A disc brake trim is also available, with a price tag of Rs 76,530.
While the new Fascino Hybrid is Rs 2,000 less than the outgoing model when compared to the drum brake variation, the disc brake trim now costs Rs 1,000 more. According to the corporation, the new model will be available in the market by the end of July.
The new Yamaha Fascino 125 Hybrid features a Smart Motor Generator (SMG) System with enhanced functionality, which is the scooter’s greatest attraction.
Yamaha Fascino hybrid engine
A new BS 6-compliant, air-cooled, fuel-injected (Fi), 125 cc powerplant with Yamaha’s Blue Core engine technology lies at the heart of the scooter. This engine is claimed to produce 8.2 PS of maximum power at 6,500 rpm and 10.3 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm.
The Smart Motor Generator, which serves as a torque helping motor to help the scooter accelerate from a stop, has been added to the engine. When the scooter starts moving, the throttle is cut, or the engine rpm hits a specific level, the assist function automatically switches off after three seconds. There’s also a separate tell-tale light for this purpose.
Yamaha Fascino hybrid features
The all-LED headlight and tail lights on the 2021 Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid is a nice departure from the all-bulb ones on its predecessor. The analog instrument cluster has also been replaced with a completely digital instrument cluster with a Bluetooth connection.
This gives the rider access to functions such as finding one’s scooter in a parking lot, answering back, riding history, parking record, and the hazard lamp function. All of these are only available with front disc brakes. For extra convenience, a USB charging connector is available as an option.
The scooter also includes a number of standard features, including a side-stand engine cut-off function, a silent starter, an Automatic Stop and Start System, a folding utility hook, and a large 21-liter under-seat storage compartment.
Fascino hybrid other features
The scooter’s other features have stayed unaltered. It has the same telescopic front fork, single rear shock absorber, 190mm disc or drum brake up front, and a drum brake in the back, as well as 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheels with 90-section front and 110-section rear tires, respectively.
