BMW is launching three electric cars in India

BMW has confirmed that they are launching there three electric cars in India in coming six months

BMW is ready to bring its flagship iX electric SUV next month with a December 11 launch date. After that, they will come up with an electric mini hatchback and in the last, they will launch their first sedan electric, which is the i4 in the coming months.

Vikram Pahwa, President, and CEO of BMW India confirmed the report and indicated that electric vehicles will be BMW’s next big push in the country.

Mr. Pahwa said, “We’ve already done that, and it’s yielding a lot of returns since our growth in the first 10 months has been fairly consistent. We’re pushing the product offensively to the next level, and everything we’re doing is geared towards pure electric mobility.

BMW will debut three completely electric vehicles in India within the next 180 days. The BMW iX, a completely electric SUV, will be available in 30 days. In 90 days, we will introduce the MINI electric, and in 180 days, we will unveil the i4, our first electric car.”

With a 0-100 km/h speed in just 6.1 seconds, the BMW iX will be powered by two electric motors for the front and rear axles. In European and American regions, the BMW iX has already been introduced this month.

To make it easier for customers, BMW India will include a home charging kit with each vehicle. It will be an 11 kW AC charger that can charge a battery to 100% in around 7 hours and add 100 kilometers of range in 2.5 hours, and it can be used at home or at the workplace.

In addition, BMW India’s dealer network will install fast chargers at all contact locations in 35 Indian cities.

BMW may be entering the electric vehicles market late as compared to other companies but it is confident of playing a long inning with its products.
